GET TO KNOW US
Our collective love of remedial French and making noise bonded three software engineers back in 2023. We draw from rock, pop, and jazz for an energetic blend of storytelling lyrics and catchy melodies.
We've performed all around San Francisco, and we pride ourselves on performances that insinuate a genuine connection. Thanks for tuning into what we've made so far and for considering us as you're planning your next event.
Chris Coraggio
I'm Chris, the singer for Triple Entendre!
Wordsmith, laughing enthusiast, and listener -
basically
a golden retriever
with a microphone. I write many of the songs you've heard from us, and my hope is that careful
listeners will pick up on
the nuggets of life that inspired them.
My relationship with music began with the school choir and xylophone ensemble in fourth grade.
As I
discovered new
instruments and genres growing up in the church and the marching band, I've been consistently
captivated by the scales
and chords that glue music together. This is why soloing over a few chords on most instruments
is
easier than reading a
piece of sheet music for me - most of the time, I'm able to pick things up by ear and brain.
A lot of people journal (and should) when confronted with the realities of life. The only
difference
for me is that my
journal entries often get distilled into verses. The thrill of moving to San Francisco from
Indiana,
the isolation of
the pandemic, and the ups and downs of work life have all informed my music. I'll leave you to
guess
which songs are
which!
Outside of the band, you'll find me projecting V5's on the bouldering wall or camping with my
fiancée. I'm grateful for
how Triple Entendre is propelling my creative vision into the world - it's been a lifelong dream
to
get my words and
melodies stuck in people's heads.
Michael Kehinde
Hey there, I'm Michael, the drummer for Triple Entendre!
I first dipped my toes into music playing French horn in concert bands during my school days. I
really found my groove
through the church community, where I developed a passion for the drum kit. Rhythms, phrasing,
pocket — tones and
textures that connected me with the music on a deeper level — it was like a special kind of
musical
expression that I
couldn't resist.
Over the years, I've performed in various settings, from pit bands for show choirs to belting it
out
with the McMaster
Gospel Choir for five incredible years as tenor singer. My musical roots lie in funk, blues,
shuffles, and afro pop, but
lately I've been diving deep into jazz and Latin drumming, expanding my skill set and soaking up
every beat.
When I'm not behind the kit, you might catch me sinking three-pointers on the basketball court
or
diving into a new
skill. But music is where my heart truly lies. So whether you're into rock, funk, or jazzy pop,
keep
an eye out for
Triple Entendre— we might just groove our way into your heart! 🥁
Todd Griffin
Hey y'all, my name is Todd Griffin and I'm the bass player in Triple Entendre!
I've been making music almost my entire life, playing through most of the Brass family of
instruments (Baritone -> Tuba
-> Sousaphone) throughout high school and college. I was first introduced to those instruments
through the show
VeggieTales when I was a little kid; I saw the cucumber character play the Sousaphone and wanted
to
be just like him
haha While I mostly stuck to playing in concert bands and orchestras, I started teaching myself
to
play electric bass so
I could join Men's Basketball and Women's Volleyball pep bands.
After college, I moved from Chicago to San Francisco and started jamming with Chris and Michael
during what we called
"Wholesome Sundays"—a time for friends to come together and make some (quite loud) noises lol
Our
band was born out of
this musical community and is a core part of who we are.
Outside of music, you'll catch me running marathons, playing Rocket League, building cool side
projects, or editing
videos for the band! There's never a moment I'm not working on something 👷♂️
I'm lucky to have found such amazing musicians to grow and play with. Keep an eye out for
spotlights
on Michael and
Chris in the coming weeks!
